Topic: Specific Company
For those of you who may not know, I have studied the foreign exchange (FOREX for short) market for a few years now, and let me tell you something, I am lucky enough to be educated when it comes to the actual FOREX market, and those "get rich quick schemes." This evening (26 July '05) I arrived home from an FX software demonstration trade show. I have decided not to actually name the company, but, it is considered to be "easy FX software to use." When the presentation was over, I must admit, I was impressed w/ the actual software, and how one can "profit" from it.
When I was at the meeting, they also stated that you would have the chance to demo the software for 2 weeks, and if you were not interested, the software would simply expire on your computer. "Hmmmm, not bad" I said. When the presentation was over, I went towards the back of the conference room and to ask a few questions about the actual software, and how to place a trade, and to learn more about how to use their risk capabilities. I was shocked that one of the "salesmen" stated that I needed to first pre-pay to ask questions, and to "demo" the software at my home. I was in shock, "pre-pay" I said to him "I thought this was free demo software." "Oh, it is free software, we just need the $2,995 now, if you are not interested after 2 weeks then you can simply cancel." "You've got to be kidding me" I said. I simply couldn't believe it. I stated to the sales associate that "in order to test the software that I needed to pay nearly $3,000 to test it....even though, if I am not interested after the 2 week period, I will be refunded?"
Out of the clear blue, he was acting as if he had a personal problem w/ me. I mean, come on, I'm asking a question pertaining to Easy 4X software, and he's getting very defensive. My first thought was "What is it is he trying to hide here?" He stated out loud, "During the demonstration, didn't you notice how much profit he generated?" I simply shook my head in disgust, and left. I simply couldn't believe it. The funny thing is once it ended, people came to that back table and started to sign up and whip out their credit cards just for demoing the software. I hope they read the fine print which stated something similar to one will only get their money back on the first day of demoing the software. Isn't that sad, after the first day, you can continue to demo the software, you will just not get your money refunded.
To be quite honest w/ you, THINK BEFORE YOU SPLURGE. The sales team make it sound like this is your only opportunity. Before attending a trade show, research the product first. If it sounds too good to be true, THEN IT IS!
